We shuffled the cards in 2022 in the prestige “limousine” segment. Indeed, the group of three finalists includes two multi-model entries: the BMW 7 Series/8 Series Gran Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class/CLS/Maybach/AMG GT 4-door. It's true that in both cases, the models listed have multiple awards, but this grouping had a primary purpose of giving one chance per brand, instead of giving four for Mercedes-Benz and two for BMW in this case.

Kia Seltos - Mazda CX-30 - Subaru Crosstrek
Until quite recently, although it’s starting to feel like a lifetime ago, the most popular category with consumers was that of the compact sedan. But then, landlines and desktops once ruled also! Nowadays, consumers are only interested in small utility vehicles. There's a reason why there are so many models available in this particular segment. In fact, there were no fewer than 19 eligible vehicles on our initial list in 2022.
The vehicles still in the running this year are models pretty familiar to the general public. Certainly the presence of the Subaru Crosstrek and the very fun-to-drive Mazda CX-30 won't surprise too many folks. As for the Kia Seltos, it was a finalist in its rookie year on the market in 2021, and it makes it back, so no sophomore jinx.
