Who will become champion when...
A dream finale:
At the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, three drivers can still become DTM champion today. Mattias Ekström (44 points), Bruno Spengler (42) and Martin Tomczyk (40) are separated by only four points.
Any of the three is champion when he wins the race. Exception: when Tomczyk wins, his team-mate Ekström may not finish second. In case of equal points (see table below), the number of better race result counts, with victories, second places, third places etc. in respective order.
With two victories so far for Tomczyk and one each for Spengler and Ekström, the Bavarian has a slight advantage here. In terms of second places, Spengler and Tomczyk have two each, Ekström has one. On the other hand, Ekström has four third places, Spengler one and Tomczyk none.
