6- Hail to the Hatch
Highlighting the shift towards small fuel-efficient cars, the newly-arrived Mazda2 and resurrected Ford Fiesta are proof that Canadians still love econoboxes – if and only if quality is part of the equation. Both brands have answered the call, much to the delight of new car buyers.

7- The Fiat 500 in Canada

A foreign car brand making its way into Canada is certainly not everyday news. Following its takeover of Chrysler, Fiat decided to go ahead and offer the world-famous 500 in the land of the Maple Leaf. Consumer and media interest has been huge even though no one has taken the car for a spin yet. The first 500 units were all sold in just 12 hours.

8- New premium family cars
Premium car makers realized that they can offer more than SUVs and crossovers to meet the needs of modern, well-off families. With alternatives like the Porsche Panamera and BMW Gran Turismo, every dad in North America now has the possibility to take the kids to school while burning some rubber on the way. These upscale, do-it-all sedans excel at combining sporty performance with the functional attributes any soccer mom seeks.
