The best of the rest featured a 1951 Allard J2 Cadillac-engined Le Mans racecar tied with a 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Phaeton at USD$324,000, both records for the respective nameplates, while a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SC Roadster lined its previous owner with USD$315,900.

The highest priced original number's matching American car was a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 Fastback at USD$280,800, also a record for Shelby Mustangs.
The richest Ferrari came next, a 2001 550 Barchetta at USD$271,080. This was definitely not a record for the Italian marque, as many cars have previously drawn more than a million dollars at Barrett-Jackson. For example, a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder (convertible) could only manage USD$140,400, the exact same price as a customized Chevy Nomad. It was also the second highest priced Ferrari.

While bad news for speculators the lower prices are good news for Ferrari fans that now just might be able to afford a car with a prancing horse emblem on the hood. The opposite scenario is true for American muscle cars and customs, which are now priced beyond the reach of the less affluent.
More than just cars were on the Barrett-Jackson block by the way, with light and medium duty trucks fetching higher prices than ever before. Also on display in an exhibit pavilion was classic automobilia, high-end jewelry, celebrity collectables and other vendors. The weekend event hosted a fashion show as well, during the opening night charity Gala.
