The upcoming Bentley's specs are simple: it's the most potent with 621 ponies and the fastest with 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and top speeds of 329 km/h. It's also the first Bentley boasting the 6.0-litre, FlexFuel-capable V12 engine compatible with E85 fuel (85% bio-ethanol) and lighter by 110 kg.

Despite its greener tendencies, Bentley's automotive masterpiece upholds the brand's tradition of power and luxury. The Continental Supersports is part of Bentley's new environmental commitment, which is diametrically opposed to its image of maker of gas-guzzling juggernauts.

2012 Bentley Continental Supersports

The model marks the first step in the brand's plan to reduce its entire lineup's CO2 emissions by 15%. The second step consists in improving fuel efficiency by 40% in order to enable the third step, offering an entire lineup capable of running on alternative fuels. The plan will culminate in 2012, three short years away.

The new Supersports is impossible to mistake for the regular and Speed versions. The extensive use of carbon components lends it a unique air, as does the lightly retouched styling cues. The front fascia has been reworked and now features front and hood air intakes. Exclusive wheels contribute to its distinctive personality.

Bentley has integrated smoked steel headlamp bezels for a spectacular effect. In its weight-reducing quest, the Supersports has sacrificed its rear seats in order to become a two-person coupe.

Unfortunately, the automaker hasn't released any information on the Supersports's fuel consumption or pricing. We'll have to wait for its official launch at the Geneva Motor Show in a few days.
