BMW’s all-new M5 sedan will come with a $101,500 pricetag, the automaker announced. Due to go into production imminently, the sedan features M Dynamic Damper Control, Active M Differential and 20” forged light alloy wheels.
An all-new M 4.4-litre TwinPower Turbo V8 generates 580 hp and 500 lb.-ft. of torque, taking the M5 from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Standard is a 7-speed double clutch transmission, which drastically reduces fuel consumption according to the company; a 6-speed manual is optional.
The all-new 2012 M5 will feature the most horsepower in its class, and a host of standard features including six-piston front brake calipers finished in blue with M Compound rotors; larger, 80-litre fuel tank predicted to offer a range in excess of 900 km; auto start/stop; brake energy regeneration; Merino leather upholstery with Alcantara roofliner; park distance control front and rear with rearview camera; heated front and rear seats; 16 speakers; Sirius satellite radio; Bluetooth with Mobile Office, and BMW Apps with Smartphone integration.
