The Sales area of the BMW showrooms will continue to display the vehicles through the road concept pioneered by BMW in the early 1970s. With brushed metal ceilings at a height of 18 feet, large windows offering natural light and grey slate flooring, the showrooms mimic the natural road environment. In some retailers, a special section will be developed to highlight either one of the high-performance M products or to serve as a luxury consultation area for personalized BMW Individual vehicles. Light wood flooring will be laid in order to distinguish the area from the sales floor. In addition, newly constructed BMW facilities will incorporate enclosed Vehicle Delivery bays that will be visible from the showroom. The entire sales process, from the first visit to the detailed introduction to the vehicle during delivery is designed to provide the customer with the greatest level of comfort and convenience.

"The BMW experience is based upon performance, precision, and luxury," explains Mr. Neville. "We've carried those notions into the design of the showrooms."

The design of the Parts and Service departments also underwent several changes. Service drive-throughs containing customer consultation bays have been integrated into the building and are finished with full tile flooring, as opposed to the concrete traditionally used by many dealerships. The consultation bays now include a car hoist so that the customer can quickly walk through their service requirements with a BMW service advisor.
