The BMW CleanEnergy World Tour exhibition will take place at the MontréalScience Centre from June 8th to 10th. The public is invited to visit and learnabout how hydrogen - a renewable energy source - can be used to power motorvehicles with internal combustion engines while releasing virtually zeroemissions into the atmosphere. BMW's fleet of hydrogen vehicles has alreadytravelled over 170 000 km, proving that hydrogen is not only a viable optionbut also a definite reality.
Nearly a thousand experts from all over the world will attend the WHEC todiscuss the future of hydrogen and its greater implementation in the searchfor a more sustainable energy source. BMW's participation at the WHEC is oneof the highlights of the BMW CleanEnergy World Tour 2002, whose mandate is topromote hydrogen as a fuel of the future and to create further partnershipswith the government and the business sector who will make it feasible.
"Canada is in a strategic position to play a strong role in the newhydrogen age," explains Hendrik von Kuenheim, President and CEO of BMW GroupCanada. "Both the political will and the energy resources are available inabundance for achieving a hydrogen future. What we require now is theinfrastructure."
