BMW has lifted the veil on the 2013 6 Series Gran Coupe, set to take on the Mercedes-Benz CLS, Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera.
With a wheelbase that’s 113 mm longer than that of the 6 Series Coupe, it represents the German automaker’s first foray into the booming four-door luxury coupe market.
Three variants of the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will be available at launch time in the US, scheduled for June 2012:
All models will feature an 8-speed autobox and a top speed limited to 250 km/h.
At first glance, the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe’s cabin will offer all the luxury ammenities of its rivals. Standard equipment will include leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Xenon headlamps and 18” wheels, while buyers will have the option of adding a Bang & Olufsen sound system and M body kit.

- The 640i, with a turbocharged 6-cylinder producing 320 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque
- The 650i and 650i xDrive, powered by a 450 hp, 479 lb-ft, twin-turbo V8 that allows them to dash from 0 to 100 km/h in under five seconds
