A high-performance M variant of the next-generation BMW X3 compact luxury crossover will be introduced by late 2017, according to company insiders.
German magazine Focus, according to Digital Trends, reports that this model could generate close to 500 horsepower thanks to a 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine mated to a dual-clutch transmission.
In case you didn’t know, a redesigned BMW X3 will make its debut next year. Such a potent version would directly rival the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GLC 55 and the rumoured Audi RS Q5. BMW also has plans for a fuel-saving X3 with plug-in hybrid technology.
We’ll keep you posted.
