A good showing by either Canadian at each of the three races that take place north of the 49th could shift the balance of power, but Junqueira won't go down easily.

While Carpentier has yet to win a race, his consistency at the checkered flag has made all the difference. His strong 2nd place in the standings is the direct result of never finishing worse than fourth in the first four Champ car events, which were held in Long Beach (4th), Monterrey (4th), Portland(4th), Milwaukee (2nd).

The Ville La Salle, Quebec native, now living in Las Vegas, Nevada due to his Forsythe team's headquarters just shrugs his shoulders when asked about his good fortune, or so said a Globe & Mail report.
"I'm ahead [of Tracy] in the championship, so nothing happens and I just keep going and finish the race," commented Carpentier during a press event held in Vancouver to promote the Molson Indy in that city. "Last year, I had to step back a little bit and help Paul as much as I could, he added. "I had to let him by in Denver and a few races, except Montreal. This year, so far, it's different. It's a battle."
