For a second year running, General Motors, through its Chevrolet brand, will offer performance driving classes to young drivers. Thanks to this program, interested wannabe race car drivers will get the opportunity to test drive some of Chevy's hottest products including the Aveo, Optra, Cobalt and HHR.

The goal of the event is to sensitise drivers with little or no experience to the dangers involved with getting behind the wheel of a car. GM has not selected just anybody to promote this event as Patrick Carpentier, Rolex Sports Car Series pilot, is the spokesperson. The main characters managing the classes are Richard Spénard and Robert Desrosiers.

The list of instructors reads like a who's who of the Québec elite club of drivers: Antoine Bessette, Claude Bourbonnais, Sylvain Champoux, Pierre Des Marais, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, Guy Lahaie, Martin Roy, Jean-François Veilleux and Steve Wester.

The program will take place at the Montreal Hippodrome from June 20th to the 28th. From July 5th to the 9th, the action will take place on the grounds of the Québec ExpoCité. The total number of participants is limited to 2,800 aged between 18 and 24 years of age. To sign up, simply visit www.allonsychevrolet.ca. Remember, you have until May 18th 2007 to register. This program is offered free of charge.
