Three of the biggest names in collectible vehicles have joined forces to create the eClassix.com website and produce two new TV shows devoted to the hobby.
As created by the Speedvision cable network, Hemmings Motor News, and the annual Barrett-Jackson classic car auction, eClassix.com will feature on-line auctions, classifieds, dealer showrooms, a parts and service store, and entertainment and information that they promise will be "high-quality."
The owners of the joint venutre claim it will be "the ultimate website for collectors, restorers, dealers and parts and services companies serving the special interest vehicle market."
Scheduled to formally launch during the first quarter of 2000, the site will offer enthusiasts a single source online to:
- search for a vehicle
- buy, sell or consign their collector vehicle
- find parts and accessories for any vintage vehicle
- browse dealer inventories
- communicate with clubs and other hobbyists and buy specialty equipment
- participate in an on-line auction
Beyond this, the site's organizers say, there will be news, information and editorial content pertaining directly to the enthusiast.
