Get Ready, Get Set, Draw!

DaimlerChrysler Canada today announced the nationwide launch of the "Start Your Engine! Design That Cool Car" drawing contest, for children aged 13 and under. The contest will run on www.Canadianparents.com between now and December 2002 with winning drawings being showcased at the Toronto International Auto Show in February 2003.

"At DaimlerChrysler Canada, it is vitally important to encourage Canada's young minds to explore their creative abilities," says Ed Brust, Chairman, President and CEO of DaimlerChrysler Canada Inc. "In addition to providing them with an artistic outlet, we want to draw their attention to the excellent career options open to them in automotive design, especially since the automotive industry generates 1 in 7 of Canada's jobs."

The contest requires kids to use their creativity and put pen, marker or crayon to paper and design their vision of a cool car, truck or their very own segment-busting concept. The contest is split into three age categories - seven and under, eight to 10, and 11 to 13. Prizing will be awarded in each age group based on innovation and creativity. Prizes for the contest include three $2,000 BMO Intuition RESPs, 3 Fujifilm FinePix 2650 digital cameras, and six one-year subscriptions for AOL Canada Internet service each with a "designer" gift basket from Grand & Toy.

For contest rules and regulations, visit www.canadianparents.com. Or you can send your "Cool Car" design to the "Design That Cool Car" contest headquarters at 1075 Bay St., Ste 810, Toronto, ON, M5S 2B1. The contest closes December 31, 2002.
