Here is a breakdown of some of Ford's new and upcoming products:

2007 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX

It is a 5-passenger Crossover with a bold grille and Ford's all-new 3.5L V6. Output is rated at 265 hp and 250 lb/ft of torque. Production is set to begin in October of this year. The Lincoln, more luxurious, will feature the same powertrain and is set to compete directly with the Lexus RX 350.

2007 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator

The completely revised full-size SUVs are now bolder and the Expedition is available in an extended version called MAX. These trucks will lead their categories in interior amenities, people, cargo and towing capacities. Refinement will be on the lips of everyone that drives them.

2007 Lincoln MKZ and Ford Fusion

The ex-Zephyr has received a series of updates including a revised, more Lincoln-like front grille and a 263 hp 3.5L V6. Both vehicles can now be ordered with Ford's all-new optional AWD system (V6 only on Fusion).

Eaton Roots-type Supercharger, Ford GT heads on a 5.4L V8, 500 hp, 6-speed manual transmission, a water-to-air intercooler, 14" Brembo front discs, a Shelby face with Shelby stripes... What more can I add?

2007 Ford Trucks

A number of special editions were on display including the Explorer Ironman (specific colour and exterior trim) and few versions of Ford's ever-popular F-Series as the Outlaw and the Highline. An FX2 version of the F-150 will be offered. It will include all of the FX4's trim and upgrades save for the off-road capability.

Some hints were dropped concerning the future of the Five Hundred and the Freestyle. It is expected that they will adopt the Fusion's front fascia design as well as the 3.5L V6. What is certain is that this will not occur for the 2007 model year. 2008 is more likely.

Although much was discussed about future products from Ford, nothing was mentioned concerning hybrid vehicles. We do know that there are plans for an Edge and a Fusion with hybrid technology.

Ford now has wind in its sails, much like DaimlerChrysler. At the moment, it seems as though General Motors is still trying to hoist up its sails...
