The company's first V8 engine, simply called Tau, is a 4.6-liter unit that produces 368 horsepower and 324 lb-ft on regular unleaded. With premium fuel, the output climbs slightly to 375 hp and 333 lb-ft. There are also two other engine choices for the Genesis: a 264-hp 3.3-liter V6 as well as a 290-hp 3.8-liter V6. All models come with a 6-speed automatic with manual mode.
Advanced technologies and features abound inside the Genesis, including heated and cooled seats, push-button start and self-levelling xenon headlights. On the safety front, Genesis boasts a rearward-facing backup-camera to avoid reversing accidents, as well as adaptive cruise control which can automatically detect and maintain a pre-set distance from another car in traffic.
It is said to offer the interior space of a BMW 7-Series and the performance of a 5-Series at the price of a 3-Series. The stereo system is a Lexicon. Lexicon only supplies one other company, Rolls Royce.
