The new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V was introduced this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, putting on a show of its own as the most powerful Cadillac in 112 years.
Under the sleek hood is a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine rated at 640 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V can sprint from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). An 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Performance Algorithm Shifting is part of the package. Great news for stick lovers: a manual gearbox will also be available!
The suede- and carbon-trimmed interior of the 2016 CTS-V features Recaro sport seats, while the numerous advanced safety systems include a front-view camera, blind-spot monitor, forward collision alert, lane keeping assist, and rear cross traffic alert.
Pricing for the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, which goes on sale this year, has yet to be announced, although the Los Angeles Times reports that it will start in the $80,000 USD range.
