It makes sense that the Dakota has done well in its segment as it offers midsize proportions and a compact price. It delivers more

"Combine Dodge Dakota's performance/value equation with its status as the largest, most capable pickup available, and it's clear Dakota has once again defined the mid-size pickup segment," added Jackson.
While both of its two 4.7-liter V8 options are popular, Dodge will also offer the new Dakota ST in 3.7-liter Magnum V6 trim for the reduced price of $19,210. The engine makes 210 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque, which will be ample for some. The ST also gets standard 16-inch wheels and an all-new 6-speed Getrag manual

The 4.7-liter V8 in its base form is much more robust, of course, at 230 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. A third high-output version of the 4.7-liter V8 is also offered, but Dodge is being coy about its specific rating. All the brand would say is that it will produce 250 plus horsepower and 300 plus lb-ft of torque.
The Dakota ST will also offer a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, UConnect hands-free communication (also late availability), dual rear seats, a sliding rear window, trailer tow package, 4-wheel ABS, and two-row side curtain airbags as optional equipment. The Dakota will also be the first midsize pickup to offer heated cloth seats in America.
