Like the ST the 2005 Dakota SLT will be offered with the 3.7-litre Magnum V6 engine as standard equipment, while making the two V8s optional. It gets standard tilt steering, cruise control, 16-inch aluminum wheels, fog lamps, dual rear seats, and power windows, locks and mirrors. The Dakota SLT starts at $21,774 for the Club Cab with 2WD; $24,624 for the Club Cab with 4WD; $23,174 for the Quad Cab with 2WD; while a Quad Cab with 4WD will set you back $26,024.
The name Laramie will once again designate the top-tier Dakota, and with that honor offer the 4.7-liter V8 as standard equipment. The high-output version will also be available as an option. Other standard features include an Infinity six-speaker 288-watt premium sound system, six-disc CD changer, 17-inch chrome clad aluminum wheels, OWL all-season tires, tilt steering, cruise control, leather seats, fog lamps, dual rear seats, 6-way leather power driver's seat, overhead console, leather-wrapped steering wheel with remote audio controls, and power windows, locks and mirrors.
