The Dakota Laramie will start at $33,000 for a 2WD Club Cab, not including the $950 destination charge of course, while a Club Cab with 4WD will start at $36,645. Add another two doors for a Dakota Laramie Quad Cab and the 2WD version will go for $35,445 while the 4WD option will start at $39,215.
To many the best part of buying a new Dakota will be the duration of the brand's powertrain warranty, which is good for five years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. While this is long compared to GM or Ford, it is two years shorter than last year's powertrain warranty of 7 years, with 15,000 kilometers less coverage overall. Just why Dodge has reduced its warranty is not mentioned, but its move up the reliability charts over the past few years is most likely part of its reasoning. The Dakota's bumper to bumper coverage is three years, 60,000 kilometers.
