DTM series executives are planning to introduce new pit stop regulations as soon as this season opener in Hockenheim, Germany in a move, which they hope, will bring back the excitement into the race.
One solution would be to impose pit top windows for both compulsory stops instead of the existing rules that allow drivers to make their two pit stops from any time after lap six until the end of the race.
This new rule would prevent each manufacturer from leaving their slower cars out for longer to hold up their rival front-runners which situation was pointed out last year by some drivers from both manufacturers, especially in the final races of the season.
