This weekend, DTM is going to kick off its 2008 season at Hockenheim - and the world is going to witness the race action live.

For the very first time, the most popular international touring car series will be covered live and at full length on four continents. The 2008 DTM season will be covered live in more than 50 countries, with the USA, Canada and China joining the live-coverage fraternity for the first time.

Joined in Germany, Kay-Oliver Langendorff of the DTM gave us more details about the Canadian broadcaster. "In Canada, TRN - The Racing Network - will go on air in summer and then broadcast DTM races live," he said.

In addition to the long-established DTM partners in South America, Middle East and Africa, stations on the Asian continent and North America are going to cover the battle between Audi and Mercedes-Benz without any time delay for the first time.

In 2008, DTM already achieved an international TV presence of more than 2,500 hours but all the signs are that this figure will once again be exceeded, in the new season.
