Rookie drivers Edoardo Mortara (Audi), Christian Vietoris (Mercedes) and Filipe Albuquerque (Audi) set the best performance in Friday’s free practice session for the DTM race to be held this weekend in Austria.
After the session started on a dry track, the drivers were unable to improve their times following heavy showers, which explained today’s classification.
Mortara, Vietoris and Albuquerque, who each set a fast lap in the early minutes of the session, remained on top of the classification until the end.
Bruno Spengler was only 16th, but the Canadian set the pace under the rain, after he was quickest of the extra session held Thursday on dry pavement.
