A member of the rennlist.com forums supposedly met with a high-ranked Porsche Motorsport executive that has provided some informations on the 991 GT3.
The racer would be driven by 4.0-litre engine pushing 480 horsepower mated to a new PDK-S gearbox.
According to member Carrara: “I read in an EVO article that Wolfgang said Porsche won't put the PDK in the GT3 unless they can find a way to reduce the weight enough. I think the PDK-S could be the solution ».
The 991 GT3 could also benefit from an approximative mass reduction of 180 to 200 pounds resulting from the use of composites.
The car would not use hybrid technology and would have a longer wheelbase of about 100 millimeters.
