Jean-Éric Vergne won both races presented in Budapest last week-end and moved back in front of Canadian Robert Wickens in the provisional standing.

Vergne was already quickest in the free practice session and later set the pole position for race 1. The Frenchman then took a light-to-flag victory ahead of Alexander Rossi and Sergio Canamasas.

In the meantime, then championship leader Robert Wickens was struggling both in qualifying, where he only set the 11th best performance, and in the race with a 5th place finish.

In race 2, Canamasas took his first pole of the season ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne, while Wickens had another tough qualifying and took the 9th position on the grid.

Vergne was able to retake the lead in the race and scored his second victory in a row, with Albert Costa and Adam Caroll in 2nd and 3rd.

Wickens moved up to 3rd at the checkered flag, but was penalised 10 seconds after the race for overtaking behind the safety car, which dropped him down to 7th, making him lose the championship lead by four points.
