In the wake of the young driver test being moved to Silverstone, Abu Dhabi circuit bosses have spoken to retain the venue.

"With the way the current calendar is scheduled, if the test takes place after the Abu Dhabi GP then team personnel will likely have to work for five consecutive weeks with no break," Jonathan Noble wrote on Autosport.com.

Circuit Chief Executive Richard Cregan expressed to The National his wishes to welcome the teams once more, for a test featuring young drivers in the aftermath of the Abu Dhabi GP, held November 4.

He confirmed that the track had "blocked out the week after the race" to make place for the test, but also that he understood the cons of the situation.

"It's a long season as it is and there are a lot of back-to-back races this year, so it's tough for them."
