The 2012 LG Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival presented by Bud Light is back for its 13th year with a bigger line-up of activities and fun for the entire family.

The festival will take place June 7-9 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Crescent Street, taking up two full blocks between Sainte-Catherine Street and Sherbrooke Street. Event organizers expect over 500,000 visitors to take advantage of the free festival that celebrates motorsports in Montreal.

LG Electronics returns for a third consecutive year as title sponsor of the event. Festival goers will have the opportunity to experience the LG Speed Zone where they can test their racing skills on a full-motion interactive LG Racing Simulator and check out a variety of LG products. The LG Champions Podium, complete with LG Hostesses, will offer visitors a fun way to remember the Festival.

Thanks to the event’s presenting sponsor, the Bud Light Stage will offer a first-class musical experience with a mix of pop, rock and top 40 performed by some amazing Canadian acts. The festival will feature live music performances every night between 7 and 11 p.m. Fans can expect surprise guest appearances and DJs that will be the talk of the festival.

Also taking place on the Bud Light Stage are professional driver appearances, which will be presented by TW Steel. Kimi Räikkönen, 2007 Formula One Champion, now driving for the Lotus F1 Team, will be meeting fans on June 7 at 6 p.m. and Emerson Fittipaldi, Formula One Champion and two-time Indy 500 winner, will be making an appearance on June 9 at 5 p.m.

Other activities taking place festival weekend include Pirelli Racing simulators and a slot car racing game courtesy of Mr. Lube. Fans also will not want to miss the freestyle customization of a Viper by a professional artist using only Sharpie markers. The Festival is excited to welcome newcomers Carrera Sunglasses among others to the event.

Another return of significance on the leader board is that of MINI, the vehicle manufacturer who brings us their family of MINI Cooper vehicles, who will be the official car sponsor of the LG Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival. MINI will have 10 cars on display during the 3-day Festival which will be enhanced by the MINI Grand Showcase on Sunday as MINI owners will take over the street with more than 40 cars on display.

Fans will also be invited to test out their tire-changing skills at the Pit Stop Challenge, which will take place in cooperation with the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Festival organizers are proud to welcome the Heart & Stroke Foundation as the official charity of the Festival.
