The FIA World Motor Sport Council has brought minor changes to the rules ahead of the 2012 Formula One season, Autosport.com has reported.

The first tweak, regarding the use of the DRS device, has giving the race director the right to "prohibit the use of the adjustable rear wing (DRS) if he feels visibility is too poor in wet conditions. […] This has been done as a result of safety concerns over large speed differentials between cars."

Also, following last years mishaps over the curfew restrictions, "changes have been made to the personnel curfew to ensure the rest periods remain constant throughout the season, irrespective of the timing of practice sessions at particular events."

Finally, the FIA has decided to allow teams to carry dry-weather tires from Friday to Saturday, if both practice sessions are declared wet.

The move will hopefully result in teams "carrying out more laps on Saturday".
