Attention! The following information is still a rumour – nothing has been officialised yet! According to the usually reliable Italian web site Italiaracing.net, the contract linking French driver Romain Grosjean to the Lotus F1 team has already been signed.

An official statement from the team would apparently be published within the next few days.

The new GP2 series' champion would become Kimi Raikkonen's teammate next season.

The Frenchman would have been chosen not only for his brilliant performance in the GP2 series this year, but also for his good work during the first Friday practice sessions during the last Grands Prix of the season and for other commercial considerations.

It is rumoured that Renault and Total have pushed really hard to see Grosjean become a full-time driver in 2012. It is also said that Grosjean would now have a major sponsor.

The Frenchman is part of the Gravity stable, the company headed by Lotus Renault F1 boss Eric Boullier.

Italiaracing.net writes that Bruno Senna would become the team reserve driver.

Vitaly Petrov has a solid contract for next year. It is said that the Russian would receive a compensation to leave the team. He would then be free to try to find a place with another team. Another rumour sends him to Marussia, taking the place of... Timo Glock.
