Red Bull has released a new video that shows how the X1 Formula 1 prototype ( aka X2010) was transformed from a Gran Turismo 5 fixture into a full-scale model.

Built by Industrial Design Consultancy, the real life X1 features individually milled sections and a design created by Red Bull's Chief Designer Adrian Newey.

While the mock up doesn't have a powertrain, the virtual X1 has a 3-litre V6 twin turbo engine that produces 1500 PS (1103 kW / 1479 hp) and 714 Nm (527 lb-ft) of torque at 12,000 rpm.

This immense power in combination with a fan that creates a suction effect with immense downforce allows the futuristic car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 1.4 seconds, 0-200 mph (322 km/h) in 6.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 280 mph (450 km/h).

Lateral acceleration can reach 8.75G, at the very limit of what the human body can withstand.

We must admit that the X1 fits better the Le Mans LMP1 rules than the current F1 regulations.
