Fiat-Chrysler has announced a $2 billion investment to modernize and re-tool its Windsor assembly plant in Ontario, where the company's next-generation minivans (including a hybrid version) will be produced.
CEO Sergio Marchionne also hinted that a new crossover may come out of Windsor.
Both the provincial and federal governments will stay out of the project despite Marchionne threatening to move production if public funds aren't secured.
A few days ago, Fiat-Chrysler officially tolled the bell for the Dodge Grand Caravan, leaving all the room for the more luxurious Chrysler Town & Country.
