Here are the first official pictures of the vehicle De Tomaso Automobili will unveil on March 1st, at 3.30 p.m., at the 81st International Motor Show in Geneva.
In an early manufacturer press release, this Pininfarina-designed premium crossover was dubbed SLC (Sport Luxury Car). In a more recent one it had become the SLS (Sport Luxury Sedan). But one thing is sure: its final name will be announced at the Geneva press conference.
In the mean time details of this vehicle have been confirmed by a company spokesperson. This new De Tomaso four-wheel-drive crossover will be offered with a choice of two gasoline engines, a 550-hp V-8 and a 300-hp V-6 turbo, or a 250-hp 6-cylinder diesel engine. This vehicle will get into production this year.
Moreover this is only the first of three new vehicles to be launched. De Tomaso Automobili president Gianmario Rossignolo, a long time Fiat veteran, plans to build 3,000 units a year of the crossover, but also 3,000 units of a sedan and 2,000 more of a coupe. Production will take place in a former Pininfarina factory in Grugliasco, in the western outskirts of Turin.
