At first glance, this dizzy camouflage may make you think you're looking at yet another Aviator or Ford Edge testing in the cool winter climates, but this variant built on a stretched Mazda6 platform, is actually Mazda's own seven-passenger crossover referred to as the CX-9.
The CX-9 is consider a big brother to the previously shown CX-7 crossover, and together, the new utes will replace Mazda's MPV in North America.
The official introduction of the CX-9 is expected to be at the New York Auto Show next spring, and will reach dealership in the fall of 2006, as a 2007 model.
Power is initially expected to come from a 3.5-liter V6, with an optional 3.7-liter powerplant to follow the following model year.
The CX-9 will be manufactured in Japan, and pricing is likely to range in the $35,000 to $45,000 range.
