The all-new and highly anticipated Ford GT supercar can now be pre-ordered and configured at FordGT.com. Only 500 units will be sold in the next two years, and they definitely won’t come cheap: The starting price is expected to hover around $400,000 USD ($576,000 CAD), excluding destination and delivery charges.
The web-based pre-order process for the first round of applications for the all-new Ford GT closes on May 12th at 11:59 p.m. EDT. As we reported in February, however, having a ton of cash doesn’t guarantee you’ll wind up with one.
Ford is looking for select customers who will become GT ambassadors. They will sign a legally binding document requiring them to keep the car for a minimum period of time and drive it on a regular basis. The plan is to show the world what the Blue Oval is capable of doing, going head-to-head with the most formidable supercars on earth.
Approved applicants will work with the new Ford GT Concierge Service for a personalized experience ― not only through the ordering and delivery but through years of ownership.
If you’re not lucky enough to be selected or just can’t afford to buy one, you can still visit the online configurator that allows anyone to build a virtual Ford GT and easily share their dream combinations from a number of colours, wheels, and interior themes.
