Increasingly, Canadians want to be able to locate and order the vehicle of their choice, get a price for that vehicle and view competitive comparisons, all online, according to a recent study by CF Group's Canadian Online Automotive Monitor. In fact the survey found that, on a one to ten scale, these features range in importance from 7.1 to 8.6 among Canadians who frequent automotive Web sites.

Canadians are web-savvy consumers and we are ready to do business on their terms with online access to all our products, across the country,  said Dean Tesser, director of ConsumerConnect, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited.  With these new Web services, a customer can begin to research a new vehicle at www.ford.ca and then move seamlessly to the local dealer's web site to find out what is in stock, book a test drive or complete the deal.

Last year, Ford of Canada launched a pilot project that empowered consumers in two Canadian communities to be the first globally to build, price and order three Ford models completely online. Now Ford is making these in-demand Web services available across Canada and expanding the online service to include all 2001 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, with the 2002 models coming online later this month.
