Heart monitoring seats
The company’s advanced research engineers in Germany have developed a prototype vehicle seat that can actually monitor a driver’s heart activity. Employing electrocardiograph technology, this innovative seat design monitors the heart’s electrical impulses and is capable of detecting signs of irregularity.
Although this seat in still in the experimental stages, just think of the possible benefits, and even the lives which could be saved through the early detection of a heart problem.
Now of course, this invention will also enable a fairly accurate assessment of the drivers’ stress level, and even the level of excitement they’re experiencing at any given moment. So maybe this is not specifically aimed at the older generation. Perhaps we’ll one day see Facebook postings which read, “Wow, see how excited I am behind the wheel of my Mustang GT!”
Now obviously, I’m just pulling your leg there (or am I?), but it does help to demonstrate the wide diversity of this modern technology, and who might one day benefit from it.
If you’ve found this interesting, stay tuned to Auto123.com, as we’ll be bringing you a true glimpse into the future with our final report from the Ford Technology conference.
