For its latest "statement edition," Ford will market an S2 version of its Focus 3-door hatchback this summer.
According to Ford of Canada, the cosmetic and technical features of the S2 will allow members of the "X and rising Millenial generations" to say something about themselves.
According to Ford Division president Jim O'Connor, "The Focus S2 is inspired by substance, style and exclusivity. The S2 features a European-tuned suspension, unique interior and exterior styling cues and an upgraded audio system."
The former president of Ford of Canada says Focus S2 "reflects the growing desire for a more expressive and aspirational small car. We had such an overwhelming response from customers to our Street Edition model, particularly the European-tuned suspension, we decided to utilize it also on the three-door ZX3 model. We were able to deliver the new S2 in only six months."
On the exterior, O'Connor explains, the S2 Graphite Grey body kit features a unique front spoiler and rocker panels for "a more muscular appearance. Color-keyed bodyside moldings and S2 badging create a distinct look. The rear spoiler, six-spoke 16-inch aluminum wheels and chrome exhaust tip complete the exterior appearance."
That S2 exterior is available in CD silver, Sangria Red and a Focus S2-exclusive Liquid Grey.
Inside, S2 features a six-disc in-dash CD changer and sport bucket seats with diamond-patterned inserts.
