Spark Racing Technologies, the new organisation created by Frederic Vasseur has announced its collaboration with Italian race car manufacturer Dallara to build the chassis of electric single-seaters for the new FIA Formula E World Championship.
Last fall it was announced that McLaren Electronic Systems would produce the powertrains (motor, transmission and electronics) of the new car.
Dallara, which currently makes the IZOD IndyCar DW12 chassis, would undertake "the execution and approval of the new monocoque", according to a press release issued by Spark Racing Technologies on Monday.
The series, due to start in 2014 aims to have a grid of 10 teams and 20 drivers competing in electric single seaters. Race will be held on temporary road courses located in the centre of of international cities such as Rome and Rio de Janeiro.
