Honda took advantage of the first day of Frankfurtian activities to reveal the results of the European Civic Hatchback’s overhaul.
Compared to the outgoing model, the 2012 iteration is 20 mm lower and 10 mm wider, creating a more athletic stance; the sporty lines that are so popular overseas have been maintained.
Improved aerodynamics and higher quality interior materials are also on the list.
The 1.8-litre gas engine and 2.2-litre diesel powering the old version are back, producing 10 and 20% less CO2, respectively, and sipping less fuel as well.
A smaller displacement diesel mill will reportedly be cropping up before the end of 2012.
