General Motors of Canada Announces Pricing for 2005 Cadillac STS

OSHAWA, Ontario - (July 6, 2004) - General Motors of Canada today announced the MSRP (manufacturers suggested retail price) for the all-new 2005 Cadillac STS luxury performance sedan will start at $58,750 (excluding applicable taxes and freight). The STS will arrive in dealerships this fall. Popularly equipped, the V-6 and V-8 models are priced below the segment volume leaders, Mercedes Benz E-Class and the BMW 5-series.

The V-6 model, a 3.6L V-6 engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT), has 255 horsepower and 252 lb-ft. of torque. The V-8 version, featuring a 4.6L Northstar VVT engine with 320 horsepower and 315 lb-ft. of torque, will start at $68,725 (excluding applicable taxes and freight).

Both models include an impressive list of standard luxury equipment such as 5-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift control, StabiliTrak Stability Enhancement System, a Bose sound system with CD player, leather seating surfaces, Keyless Access System with push button ignition start, Adaptive Remote Start, Panic Brake Assist and much more.

Optional features include memory personalization, a Bose 5.1 Studio Surround System with 15 speakers, Magnetic Ride Control suspension system, Adaptive Cruise Control with four-colour reconfigurable Head-Up Display, heated and ventilated seats, 18-inch polished wheels and DVD Navigation. All-wheel drive will also be available on the V-8 model at start of production.
