Volkswagen insiders told Reuters that the company will unveil a new crossover concept with seating for five at the upcoming 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It could enter production in 2016 or 2017.
VW reportedly wants to add a third model to its CUV lineup alongside the Touareg and Tiguan in an effort to boost U.S. sales. Next year, the latter will add a coupe-style model as well as a long-wheelbase model that may offer a hybrid version.
We have no further details about the new crossover concept at the moment, but come back in the next few weeks or during the NAIAS to learn more about it.
