Oshawa, ON - GM Canada announced the appointment of Kevin W. Williams as president and managing director, effective immediately.
Most recently, Williams was responsible for leading GM’s service & parts operations (SPO). He succeeds Arturo Elias, who will take a senior position in the company’s public policy centre in Washington, D.C., reporting to John Montford, senior advisor, public policy.
"I'd like to thank Arturo Elias for his dedicated leadership throughout a challenging time for the GM Canada team," said Ed Whitacre, GM Chairman and CEO. "He guided GM Canada through the recent global industry crisis, and helped it emerge as a new, stronger company with a great future ahead of it."
General Motors of Canada (GMCL) is headquartered in Oshawa Ontario and employs 9,000 people nationwide. GM of Canada manufactures vehicles, vehicle powertrains, and markets the full range of General Motors vehicles and related services through dealerships and retailers across Canada.
