GP2: Luca Filippi and Romain Grosjean win at the Nurburgring

Romain Grosjean pulls away in the championship standing after a win and a third position in the two GP2 races presented at the Nurburgring this weekend.

Luca Filippi overtook polesitter Charles Pic during the pit stops of the first round. The Italian driver eventually won his 100th start in GP2 series (a record), ahead of Pic and championship leader Romain Grosjean.

Grosjean took his revenge in race 2 after race leader Jules Bianchi made a mistake in the penultimate lap, which allowed him victory ahead of Bianchi and race 1 leader Luca Filippi.

Grosjean now stands 18 points ahead of Giedo Van der Garde in provisional championship classification.
