Canadian Robert Wickens took his second 2010 win in the first round, after a very chaotic race.

Rob Wickens initially set the 6th best performance, but he inherited the pole position after numerous penalties for several drivers who did not slow down while yellow flags were waved.

Wickens started in front ahead of Adrian Quaife Hobbs, Stefano Coletti and another canadian driver, Daniel Morad. At mid race, a heavy storm hit the Belgian circuit. As the drivers were running slicks tires, most of them went out in turn one, including Wickens, who broke his nose after a spin, but was able to be back on track. The safety car was deployed.

All drivers went in pits for rain tires, excepted Wickens who stayed out with his slick tires (and a broken nose), and took the lead back behind the safety car. The race was supposed to restart with three laps remaining, with no hopes for Wickens to stay in front, but the Canadian driver was able to slow down the field enough to pass the finish line after the time limit : the race was over, Wickens was declared winner !

That was a bizarre race: only two laps were ran, as the safety car was already deployed before after.
