Pruett and Rojas won the race with a 2.005-second advantage over Jon Fogarty and Alex Gurney.

Jon Fogarty, in the GAINSCO Chevrolet Riley, took the start from first place.

There was drama right at the start when the No 61 AIM Autosport Ford Riley driven by Burt Frisselle spun under braking for the hairpin corner, apparently having slid on fluid leaking from the car. Frisselle was not injured but the car was damaged.

At the restart, Fogary pulled away into the lead, followed by Ricky Taylor and Memo Rojas.

In GT, Boris Said, in a Corvette, climbed up the field and took control of the class after 50 minutes of running.

At the 55-minute mark, a full-course yellow had the entire field in the pit for service and drivers’ changes.

The Chip Ganassi team performed a fantastic pit stop and Scott Pruett (Telmex BMW Riley) came out of the pit line in first place ahead of Alex Gurney (GAINSCO Chevrolet Riley).

For the rest of the race, Pruett managed to keep Gurney at bay to cross the line in first place.

Ronnie Bremer (Camaro GT.R) took advantage of the pit stops to take the lead in the GT class. But in the ten final minutes, it was a stunning battle for the lead with the top three cars running nose to tail!

Paul Edwards and Scott Russell eventually took victory in the GT class behind the wheel of the No. 07 Corvette. Gunther Schaldach and Ronnie Bremer arrived second in their Camaro, 1.9 second behind the winners.
