Ricky Taylor and co-driver Max Angelelli went from pole to victory for the second time this season at the Watkins Glen International.

Angelelli, who led 44 of the final 45 laps of the race after his teammate led the first 33, managed to hold off Scott Pruett for the win in the closing laps of the Canadian Tire 200 held Saturday night.

Taylor and Angelelli had also won the Six Hours of the Glen back in June, making this victory their second in a row at the road course. It was a third victory for them this season.

Scott Pruett finished in secon, trailing Angelelli by 2.517 at the checkered flag. His teammate Memo Rojas and him will have to wait a little longer to get their sixth win this season.

Ryan Dalziel and Alex Popow finished in third position in the No. 08 Ford/Riley. Jon Fogarty and Alex Gurney did not finish the race as Fogarty clipped a lapped car on the 9th lap of the race. They fell in 6th place in the standing.

In GT, Spencer Pumpelly and Steve Bertheau took a close victory, managing to spare just enough fuel to make it to the end of the race in their Porsche 911 Gt3. Pumpelly led the final 6 laps to finish 2.12 seconds ahead of Jordan Taylor.

Taylor and co-driver Bill Lester regained the championship lead with this second position. Andrew Davis and Leh Keen only led by one point coming in Watkins Glen, but finished in seventh position and are now seven points behind.

Craig Stanton and John Potter completed the GT podium on Saturday night.

NASCAR regulars Joey Logano and David Ragan had their share of success this week-end. Logano would have started from pole in GT had he not crashed the car. Ragan ran in third for most of his stint, pitting from second position.

The series will be back next week, at Montreal's Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Pruett and Rojas are the defending winners at the track.
