Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett took the first starting spot in Watkins Glen International yesterday. The popular duo is looking for a seventh victory this season.

Mark Wilkins, who will be teaming with Burt Frisselle later today, took the second position on the grid with a time of 0.172 seconds slower than championship co-leader Pruett.

Rick Taylor completed the qualifying podium. His teammate Max Angelelli will join him for the race. Championship contenders Jon Fogarty and Alex Gurney took fourth position.

In GT, Quebecker Sylvain Tremblay took the pole position from 14th position on the grid. Rookie Jonathan Bomarito will be his teammate once again this weekend.

Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato still lead the GT championship, eight points in front of teammates Tremblay and Bomarito. Pruett and Rojas share a 19 points lead over Ryan Dalziel in DP.

The qualifying session was black-flagged nine minutes earlier than expected after Mark Patterson spun and collected Buddy Rice in the process, making it impossible to restart the session.

The 10th round of the 2010 season is schedule to start at 6p.m. eastern time, this Saturday.
