Manthey Racing’s Porsche 997 RSR secures win in Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Manthey Racing, a private team with Porsche factory’s backing, took its fifth win out of six races at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Last year, the Porsche Hybrid stopped in the very last hour while leading the race. This time, Long, Bergmeister, Dumas and Luhr won after 24 hours, with 156 laps completed.

Last year's winner, BMW Motorsport, had a tough race, with several technical issues. But the German team managed to put one of its two M3 GT at second place with Farfus/Müller/Alzen/Lamy.

The third position went to team Phoenix’s Audi R8 driven by Basseng, Stippler and Fässler (who won Le Mans 24 Hours two weeks ago).

The team Phoenix also won in the GT3 class. This third position was in the hand of Heyer, Seyffarth, Bleekemolen and Jäger’s Mercedes AMG SLS GT3, but the car had to stop several minutes to fix mechanical issues in the last hour, and dropped down to 6th position at the end of the race.

Some well known drivers finished in the top positions in the others categories.

SP4T win went to the Audi TT driven by Amermüller, Biela, Klingmann and DTM championship leader Martin Tomczyk.

The Volkswagen Scirocco driven by Dakar rally VW work drivers Sainz, Al Attiyah, De Villiers and Niedzwiedz won the AT class race.

Prémat/Nett/Caillet/Bohrer (Peugeot RCZ) won in D1T class.

The Porsche Hybrid was delayed by mechanical issues in the first hours of the race.

202 cars started the race with 137 reaching the end of it !
