Porsche works drivers Richard Lietz (Austria), Marco Holzer (Germany) and Patrick Long (USA) clinched the first victory for a hybrid race car at round four of the VLN Nürburgring Endurance Championship.

While almost all other direct rivals had to pit three times to refuel during the race, the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid made only two stops, providing the team with an advantage that gave them the overall win.

For Porsche, this was the successful completion of the intensive preparation for the 24 Hour Race Nürburgring on 25-26 June.

Compared to last year’s model, the weight of the vehicle was reduced from 1,350 kg to 1,300, in which the hybrid components have become lighter, too. Their weight was reduced by 20 percent through efficient optimization.
