5. Yokohama
Japanese manufacturer Yokohama is making a splash this year with the launch of several new competitive products. Among them is the new AVID Ascend LX premium all-season touring tire available in 39 sizes based on the T, H and V speed ratings. It's designed for passenger cars, minivans and smaller SUVs. It fits 15-inch to 18-inch wheels and provides longer life with superior wet traction and a quiet, smooth ride. Yokohama gives it a 130,000 km tread-life guarantee.
Yokohama is also debuting a new performance tire called the ADVAN Apex in 44 sizes for sports and performance cars and the ultra-high performance ADVAN Sport A/S+, also for sports and performance cars but with more pronounced grooves that will help grip on wet or light snow-covered surfaces.
